Kimbo Slice Will Fight at the Ultimate Fighter Finale

Larry Allen
Spike TV broadcasts a series once a year called The Ultimate Fighter. The show gives fighters from all over the world a chance at a 6 figure contract with the UFC. Kevin Ferguson better known as Kimbo Slice was announced to be a contender on the heavyweight series this season. Kimbo has been showcased all over you tube fighting in some of the most exciting street fights on the web.

Coming into this season of the show many had Kimbo selected to win it all. His first match was against Roy "Country Boy" Nelson. Nelson was the former IFL champion so he was no stranger to danger. Nelson shocked the fans with a technical knock out victory in the second and final round. Just like that Kimbo appeared to be out of the competition and his dreams of fighting in the UFC crushed.

The show keeps speculating that Kimbo may get to step in for an injured fighter. Smart promoting tactic considering that Kimbo's presence on the show boosts the viewer ratings. That's what Spike TV and ZUFFA will continue to do until the 2 hour broadcast on December 2nd.

Kimbo will fight on the finale card, but not against any of the fighters on the show. Kimbo will face Houston Alexander . This will be a good match for Kimbo because Alexander fights with a similar fighting style. Both Kimbo and Alexander make it no secret they like to stand and sling the leather. This will be an exciting brawl most likely ending in a K.O. , but the victor is tough to call.

Losing to Nelson on the show will be some inspiration for Kimbo to train extra hard. He has a strong stand up game but is below average on the ground. Kimbo has probably already noted that Alexander has impressive ground and pound. The ground game will most likely be the focus of his training leading up to the fight.

Alexander has some impressive victory's over the likes of Keith Jardean and Alexia Sakkara but has lost 3 straight fights in the UFC. A win over Kimbo is much needed to get his career back on track. He has a strong stand up game and is comfortable going to the ground. The question he will have to ask his self is "Can I defeat Kimbo in the standup game?" if not he may look to take Kimbo to the ground and pound him out.

The speculation of Kimbo fighting on the card is out of the way. He will have his hands full with Alexander. The next topic for all fans to speculate about will be who will walk away with the win. This will be one exciting night of fights.

I follow the UFC really closely and have actually known about this fight for about 6 weeks. The Roy Nelson win over Kimbo Slice on the show was only a shock to those that don't watch much mma. Kimbo Slice would've probably lost to Jon Madsen, Justin Wren, Scott Junk, Mike Wessel, Demico Rogers, Marcus Jones, Darrill Schoonover and pretty much anybody that can get him to the ground. That's why he is fighting Houston Alexander who is another fighter with zero skills on the ground.
