Kinchley's Tavern in Ramsey, N.J. is the place for great pizza. It dates back to 1937. It is so popular that anytime you go there it's packed and anytime you go there you are sure to see people you know if you're from the area. Most of the time if you go at prime time there is a wait. There is ample parking and it's wheelchair accessible but it will be a tight squeeze. This is the place kids go after team practices and games, it's always quite noisy. Seating is in booths or tables. The booths are high backed wooden booths and all the hard surfaces make the sound level pretty intense.

The wait people are fast, over loaded and have great memories. No matter how crowded you don't have to wait long for your food.

Kinchley's is a bar/restaurant with a real family atmosphere. The pizza varieties are wonderful . Two particularly funny ones are the Humongous ($19.95/Large only) and the Garbage Pie($17.50/Large) . More typical are the Black Olive pizza, Fra Diavolo pizza, Sweet Pepper, Sausage or any number of typical pizzas and combos. Kinchley's was awarded #1 thin crust pizza in Bergen County.

Pasta is Linguini or Penne. You can get breaded Veal Cutlet $12.00, Sausage or Meatball Parm $10.95, The Clam Fry $9.95, roast beef or several different shrimp dishes over Linguini for $19.50.

The children's only menu consists of typical things like fries, Mac n Cheese, junior Ravioli, baked Ziti or hot dogs. This is an all American style Italian place.

Appetizers range from $5.85 to $9.50. Garlic bread is additional for $2.95. You can get Zucchini sticks, Onion rings or a basket of breaded mushrooms. Burgers, char broiled are available with many different topping for $5.25 for a plain burger to $7.97 for a cheeseburger deluxe. There are assorted salads like Arugula or Chef's Salad or a Dolphin safe tuna salad. Top price $7.95. You can add grilled chicken for an additional $2.50.

Sandwiches are available at lunch and dinner for $6.50 to $7.95. Try the Philly Steak sandwich, it's perfect.

Dessert is interesting. You can get Italian ices, Creamsicle floats, Birch Beer floats or more typical desserts like ice cream sundaes or Kentucky Derby Pie. They also serve Espresso or Cappucinno. Top price is $4.95,

Obviously there is a liquor license and you can get beer, Chianti or even champagne! So bring the family or come alone for lunch or dinner. Enjoy great food,

Ahh!!! I must insist you list Kinchley's in mahwah!!! Technically it's on the border, but on the Mahwah side I believe. I'm from there, so :) My grandpa actually built the bar in this place many many years ago....Thanks for the piece of nostalgia :)
