Not only did I receive comments from other users who complained about the same thing, but I received three calls from different customer service agents from Amazon yesterday. They said that they were reading through the reviews for the Kindle 3 and saw that I was having a problem with my Kindle.
I told them what was happening but they don't have an answer yet as to why the Kindle keeps freezing. They promised me that they would monitor my ereader and talk to the software developer. At one point they suggested that I return it for an exchange. I just might do that. These guys were great, by the way. Very helpful and concerned about my experience with the ereader.
In the meantime, I read one book on the Kindle 3 this weekend and have to say that I enjoyed the experience despite the glitch. Customer Service is supposed to call me back today or tomorrow. We'll see what the software developer has to say.

Mine froze, and then wouldn't reset. Finally 15 minutes later I was able to get it to boot by sliding the power and holding for 60 seconds. It took several tries for it to boot. Software is definitely faulty.
