It has great readability. It's electronic paper like display is really quite crisp, clear and readable. It's main font is very, very good on the eyes. One of the many features that it does have is it's ability to let you change the font size in a variety of sizes. Younger people and anyone with good eyesight will do just fine but if your eyesight is failing then the medium font sizes seem to be the best. The largest size makes it easy to read even on a treadmill. Something that is very difficult to do with a regular book or magazine.
When you buy the Amazon Kindle you get the following items. You get the reader itself. Which is the size of a DVD jewel case. It weighs less than a pound. After a little bit you won't even notice it's weight at all. It also comes with a book cover, power adapter and a USB 2.0 cable. Two things that Amazon doesn't consider as a major plus but it is. The Kindle comes already charged. You can use it right out of the box. This is unlike almost every other electronic device that you buy. The other thing is that the Kindle is already set up for you. You don't have to plug in all your personal information.
The one ability that the Kindle has over all other readers is the fact that you do not need anything else to use the Kindle. With a few clicks of a button you can download a new book, magazine, newspaper or blog to the Kindle. This wireless reader is amazingly quick. It takes less than a minute to download any book. However, it is important to remember again that the Amazon Kindle is a text reader and all the pictures and diagrams are missing. Something that would be nice to add to the next upgrade.
The Kindle's battery life is pretty good. If you leave the wireless feature on which is important if you get a newspaper delivered daily to it then you will have to charge the Kindle about every other day. However, if you turn off the wireless and use it only when you are buying something then you can use the Kindle for about a week before you need to recharge. One of the things that some people are saying is that the batteries seem to need replaced twice a year.
The Kindle is a great wireless reading device. If you really enjoy reading then you really should consider getting one. I would not get it if you only read occasionally. But if you get one you will fall in love with it.
