What is it?
Kinetico is a water softener for people who don't have a lot of room for a large water softener. At only a few feet in size, it's great for smaller spaces. The Kinetico water softener also uses no electricity; it is simply powered by the movement of the water (a.k.a. kinetic energy). There are three types of water softeners for you to choose from. The first is the compact softener (the smallest), the next is the well-water softeners, and the final one is the city-water softener. It should also be noted that you can have a water purifier installed separately for your drinking water.
Installation -
When you've purchased the Kinetico water system that you want, the Kinetico crew will then come to your home to install it for you. It usually takes only an hour or two for your water softener to be installed. If there are any problems though, it could slow down the installation time. After it's installed, you'll have to wait twenty-four hours for the water softener to completely filter your water. The old water that's already in use will need to first be used up. After this twenty-four hour period, you're all set.
Price -
Expect to pay several thousand dollars for this water softener system. These devices are quite pricey, but they are well worth it. You'll also have to pay for bags of salt and replacement filters. The bags of salt will cost about five dollars each, and you can find these at discount stores or hardware stores like Home Depot. Be sure you pick the right type of salt for your water softener. The Kinetico water professional who installed your system should be able to tell you what type of salt to use, and if they don't then be sure to ask them.
Upkeep -
The only upkeep is again bags of salt and replacement filters. The replacement filters do not have to be done as often in most cases; however, the bags of salt will have to be used at least once a month for most people. It will mostly depend on how much water you consume. The bags of salt weigh about forty pounds, so be careful when you lift them. You can just pour half of the bag into a bucket, and then proceed to pouring that salt into your water softener. Your Kinetico water professional will show you how.
As you can see, purchasing a Kinetico water system has its advantages. The only disadvantage to it is the chore of pouring the salt into the water softener and the price tag. But if you really want to rid yourself of hard water, and you're short on space then a Kinetico water softener might be just what you need.
