The King Cobra Speed Pro Fairway Woods feature a smaller head than the rest of Cobra Golfs Speed Series. It is not only smaller, but slightly deeper and more compact that the rest as well. This allows the player to hit the ball a little lower on a more penetrating line and also allows him or her to work the ball much more easily. The face, like the rest of Cobra's lineup is very hot and very forgiving, which really surprised me as most players clubs are for working the ball. The fact that they still put a lot of time and effort into not only making this club playable but long as well really puts Cobra Golf on a different level than some of the other major OEM's out there today.
The club itself also features an integrated weight screw on rear skirt of the club which helps aid in getting the ball up a little more than other clubs in this category which also equates to longer carry and more distance, and also, the ability to work the ball a little more while it is in the air.
I have to say, if I swung harder this would be the perfect fairway wood. It is designed for the higher swing speeds that most, but not all better players have. I was able to swing out of my shoes and hit some very large bombs down the fairway, but most were fairly low due to the deeper face and stronger shaft. Working the ball with this club was no problem at all and I did not have to over exaggerate any set up or swing moves to get the ball to go where I wanted it to each time. The main thing I liked about this club was its feel. It was very hot and as I have said over and over in this article, that is RARE for a players club!
If you are a low handicap golfer with a higher swing speed, you may want to give the King Cobra Speed Pro fairway wood a try. It would be in my bag if I swung a little harder!
