King of the Hill to Air on ABC

Very recently it was announced by the executives at the FOX Broadcasting Corporation that they would be pulling the plug on one of their longest running shows, the animated comedy series "King of the Hill." Despite its above average rating, the show doesn't boast anywhere near as many viewers as it once did, and it has been struggling to compete with other shows on the FOX Sunday night lineup for quite some time now. Shows like "The Simpsons" and "American Dad" are just proving to be too popular to for King of The Hill to compete with.

But there is another network that has their eyes on the long running animated series, and that television network is ABC. Another broadcasting giant in their own right, ABC seems to lack any shows that would appeal to the kind of audience that a show like King of The Hill would bring in - and this might be a good thing. The company is looking for a partner-show to go along with a new animated series that will be debuting soon on ABC, called "The Goode Family".

Of course, nothing is set stone at the moment, and it is believed that King of The Hill will continue on FOX until they finish out their current season, at least. Fans remain hopeful however, that something will save their favorite animated series.

King of The Hill is currently in its 13th season, and was created in 1995 by Mike Judge of Beavis and Butt-Head fame along with Greg Daniels, who had previously worked as a writer on The Simpsons. Many celebrities have made a voice acting appearance over the course of the show, such as Snoop Dogg, Owen Wilson, Billy Bob Thornton, Rene Zellwegger, Kid Rock, John Goodman, Mary Tyler Moore, Lindsay Lohan and a whole host of others. Some famous celebrities even have reoccurring roles on the show; take Tom Petty for instance who plays the role of Lucky and is married to Brittany Murphy's character on the show.

Nobody quite knows for sure exactly what the future holds for King of The Hill. Some may say that the cartoon has run its course with 13 complete seasons, but fans of the show will no doubt argue this. We will all just have to wait and see whether King of The Hill makes its debut on ABC, whether it stays on FOX, or whether the animated series goes somewhere entirely different.
