King's Island Halloween Haunt features indoor mazes, outdoor mazes, rides and shows and over 500 creatures lurking about the park. Focusing on elements of fear and fright, Halloween Haunt is meant for older visitors, and is not suitable for younger children. Of note, visitors are not permitted to wear Halloween costumes.

RIDES: King's Island fans will find some of their favorite roller coasters and other fast moving rides open during Halloween Haunt: Diamondback (New in 2009, this is a 230 foot roller coast with speeds up to 80 miles per hour, a smooth ride and a real thriller)., Firehawk (On this coaster the rider starts out laying down, but then the cars turn and flip, facing the ground, an amazing coaster!) The Racer (a set of two coasters race side by side), The Beast (A rather bumpy, but enjoyable ride, the longest wooden roller coaster in the world), Vortex (A coaster full of loops and twists!), Drop Tower (Riders are carried slowly skyward, then when finally at the top, a hesitation, then it plunges rapidly towards the ground, excellent suspense!), Delirium (A roller coaster where the seats spin and rock back and forth), Flight of Fear (an indoor, smooth roller coaster) ,and Invertigo (up to 55 miles per hour. a one of a kind face- to-face roller coaster)

MAZES: The indoor mazes are: Massacre Manor, Urgent Scare, Club Blood and Death Row.Carnevil and Slaughter House. Outdoor mazes include: Tombstone Terror-Tory, Trail of Terror, Cemetery Drive and Corn Stalkers, Cut Throat Cove.

SHOWS: There are two live Halloween shows: Ghouls Gone Wild, which features classic rock and roll Halloween songs. Hot Blooded includes vampires and other scary creatures of the night with background rock and roll music. This show is for mature audiences only.

HOURS OF OPERATIONS: King's Island Halloween Haunt opens on Friday, September 25 and runs through October 31. It is open Thursdays through Sundays. The first Halloween Haunt is on Friday September 25, from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. Halloween Haunt is open from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. on the following dates: 9/25, 9/26, 10/02, 10/03, 10/09, 10/10, 10/16, 10/17, 10/23, 10/24, 10/30, 10/31.On 10/08, 10/11, 10/15 and 10/18 Halloween Haunt is open from 7pm - Midnight.

TICKET PRICES: Ticket price are good from the time the park opens until it closes (not just during Haunt hours) except for Saturday, 9/26, when the park is closed during the day for a private event, but open for Halloween Haunt from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Park hours vary in the fall, check Kings Island web site for opening park hours. Thursdays and Fridays: Regular price is $34.99. On line 21.99 (see link below). This price is good for the following dates: 9/24, 10/02, 10/08, 10/09, 10/15, 10/16, 10/23 and 10/30.

    King's Island sounds like a fun place to go for Halloween, too bad it is so far away from sunny, warm San Diego.
