Kit-Kit and Fuzzy Bear

The Adventures of a Protector Kitty

Nancy Kendall
Kit-Kit liked Fuzzy Bear. Fuzzy Bear was fun to play with. Fuzzy Bear never caused Kit-Kit any trouble... well... almost never.

Being a Protector Kitty, Kit-Kit sometimes wondered about Fuzzy Bear. Fuzzy Bear never moved, all he did was sit and stare at Kit-Kit. No one could be that still and not be up to something. When Kit-Kit was that still, he was getting ready to pounce on a mouse, or a bird, or something that should not be in Kit-Kit's Kingdom. Kit-Kit would not let anything invade his kingdom that might hurt his person. Kit-Kit was a very responsible kitty.

Kit-Kit had tried talking to Fuzzy Bear many times, but Fuzzy Bear never spoke. That was alright with Kit-Kit. Kit-Kit liked a quiet kingdom. Sometimes when Kit-Kit and Fuzzy Bear were playing, Kit-Kit would whop Fuzzy Bear on the top of his fuzzy-furred little head. Fuzzy Bear never got mad or cried. Fuzzy Bear just stared at Kit-Kit with his big, black, shiny eyes.

Kit-Kit playfully bit Fuzzy Bear's furry brown ears once... well... actually... more than once. That is why Fuzzy Bear's ears were a little ragged along one side. Kit-Kit did not think his person had noticed the ragged ears yet.

Unlike Fuzzy Bear with his short raggedy fur, Kit-Kit always kept his long, orange striped fur purrrfect. Kit-Kit liked to groom his fur every time he woke up from a kitty nap. Kit-Kit knew he should always be well groomed, especially when he was patrolling his kingdom. Kit-Kit always patrolled his kingdom after he woke up.

Once when Kit-Kit was sleeping, Fuzzy Bear snuck onto the sleeping pad next to Kit-Kit's favorite pillow. Kit-Kit did not like that, not one little bit. The sleeping pad and pillow belonged to Kit-Kit and his person. Kit-Kit had whopped Fuzzy Bear right off the sleeping pad and onto the floor. Kit-Kit would have chewed on Fuzzy Bear's ears, but the fur tickled Kit-Kit's tongue.

Kit-Kit was going to put Fuzzy Bear under the sleeping pad, but his person came and saved Fuzzy Bear. She put Fuzzy Bear on the table beside the alarm clock. Kit-Kit thought that was a much better place than on his pillow. Fuzzy Bear did not care, he just sat there smiling and staring. Kit-Kit thought they would play again later.

Some day soon Kit-Kit would figure out why Fuzzy Bear was always smiling and staring. For now, though, Kit-Kit was going to take a kitty nap on his favorite pillow and dream about chicken flavored kitty cookies.

Kit-Kat has such adventurous days! I think I am getting addicted to his tales much like I am to my favorite soap opera! What's next Kit-Kat?
