Kitty Cat, The Perfect Pet

There are many superstitions concerning cats, they are often thought of as having magical powers. Some early Europeans held the idea that witches could turn their enemies into cats, and many people today believe that cats bring bad luck.

The old cliché of a black cat crossing your path, will make many a fool turn around and go another way.

With all of these superstitions aside, cats must be considered for their virtues. There many positive anecdotes that have ushered the cats' fame into being a favorable pet.

Cats are affectionate and sweet animals. They are friendly and love being around human beings. Although seeming aloof at times, cats really love to be held and stroked. Since they are so small, and very independent, they are extremely easy to care for.

Cats enjoy playing by themselves for exercise. The don't take up much space and do well either in or outside of the house. They usually establish their own space and claim it for themselves. Cats don't enjoy traveling so when getting a new cat, it may take a while for them to adjust to their new surroundings.

The soft purring of your cat is an indication that they are relaxed and happy. Although cats spend a good part of the day sleeping, they love to play when they are awake. Cats love to roam, and explore their surroundings, hunting for insects and other things to play with. They love playing with balls of thread and small toys. They also like boxes and paper sacks to play in and of course, they really enjoy a small toy containing a bit of catnip.

Cats generally live a long life and remain playful into old age. One real advantage to having a cat around your home is the fact that they really do catch mice. Around the house and on the farm this is a great advantage to owning a cat.

Cats are quiet little creatures that are graceful and light on their feet. They are the perfect pet for those who love to cuddle with animals. Although very independent, they love to curl up next to you when you are relaxing.

Cats groom themselves which makes taking care of them almost effortless. Since they only need a little feed and water they are not expensive to own.

A soft, furry cat is an ideal companion for the entire family.
