On her 3rd cup of coffee she made it to the entertainment page and right there smack dab on it's front page was an article that caught Kittys eye, it read, "The amazing, remarkable, and great Miss Pickles Clairvoyant has made Nestorville her new home and has set up shop to help people any way she can with her Victorian era charm and clairvoyant insight."
The article went on to say that she bought the old Victorian home perched high atop Nestorvilles northern hill better known as Victorian Heights. Where she will offer afternoon teas in Victorian style as will as offer readings every afternoon from noon to 5pm Tuesday through Saturday.
So Kitty thought to herself, "Wow that would be such fun I'll go this very afternoon and have myself a grand old Victorian tea and maybe get a reading from Miss Pickles."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later that day Kitty dressed in her best, hat, gloves, and all, made her way to Victorian Heights and as she turned the corner onto Lilac Lane she spotted the grand old Victorian Home of Miss Pickles. Kitty was in aw to see its splendor painted in warm pastel colors of yellow, green and a few accents of pink, and rose bushes running along each side of the large open air porch alternating with large yellow and pink blossoms, and as she made her way up the cobblestone walk way she could smell the wonderful sent of the periwinkles that border each side of the walk way.
So there she was with the rest of the guests sitting on one of the white wicker seats placed all up and down the porch. As she and the other guest were talking amongst themselves, the front door opens and this little man dressed as a Victorian era butler steps out and closes the door behind him and with triangle in had he takes the little mallet and gives the triangle one tap, "PING", silence fall across the group and then he says:
" Good afternoon all, my name is Albert, Miss Pickles butler, in 20mins time the tea will commence, but during your wait Edna, Miss Pickles made, will be out to serve some fresh lemon aid."
With that said he made his way back into the home and Edna came around the corner wheeling a cart with two large pitchers of lemon aid and glasses all made of the finest etched crystal, so all with lemon aid in hand the door opens again it was Albert he gave the triangle a tap "PING". and announced.
"It is with great pleasure that I now give you Miss Pickles." Then the door opens and this hand with a long white glove gently emerges and then Albert takes her hand and helps Miss Pickles down the step onto the porch, there she was a slender small woman with parasol in hand, large hat, dress, and boots all of the Victorian time period.
And then Miss Pickles welcomes all:
"It is with great honor that I welcome you all, my first guest, here to my home that I affectingly call Pickles Manor, now Albert will commence with the seating."
So Albert opens the large double doors that open up onto a large entry way and he takes his place at the foot of the grand stair case and as Miss Pickles welcomes each guest one at a time Albert directs them to the right where Edna has the grand banquet room all made up in full Victorian splendor for the tea.
When all are seated Miss Pickles makes her way in and tells the guest that she will be starting the readings across the hallway in her study and that if you would like a reading today to please see Albert.
Kitty was just getting finished with her angel food cake, the best she has ever had and she makes her way to Albert and asks, "Albert can I get my reading from Miss Pickles?"
Albert leads her to the study and slides open the large double oak wood doors to the study where Miss Pickles is waiting, the study is dark with large velvet green drapes blocking out all the day light, on the back wall was a large fireplace and hanging above the mantel was a large painting of Miss Pickles, and in the center of the room there was a large round table cloaked in heavy velvet green tasseled table cloth and placed in the middle was a large crystal ball, small bell, and one large candle just to the side giving off just enough light to see Miss Pickles.
As Kitty made her way to the table and took her seat across from Miss Pickles Albert slid the large doors shut, and then Kitty could hear the large key being placed into the key hole and then a loud click as the door locked, it made Kitty a little nervous and she gave Miss Pickles a look of fear.
Miss Pickles tells Kitty not to worry that it is done for her privacy and she went on to say:
"Let us begin the crystal is telling me that your childhood was lost that your mother needed your help in raising your younger brothers and sisters after the passing of your father, you had no time to play or have a carefree childhood, you had to work after school in the candy factory cleaning out sugar vats for penny's an hour to help make ends meat and hence you are looking to have fun now and you just don't know how to go about it."
"Yes that is right Miss Pickles, you are as incredible as the paper said you were." Kitty went on to say, "How I wish that I could have the mind and imagination of a child once again, to play with dolls all day if I wish and run through open meadows with my friends playing hide and go seek."
Miss Pickles with a look of loving concern on her face takes Kitties hand and in a soft loving voice says.
"I feel for you dear and I am glad to tell you that I can make your dream come true, but only if you are willing to pay the price, pay it and you will have your carefree childlike fun again and all until you depart this world for the next."
So Kitty looks nervously around and asks, "What's the price it could not be that bad?" and in response Miss Pickles says, "It will only take you to liquidate all you own and we will take that money and make you dream come true." and as Miss Pickles takes Kitties hand once again she leans forward with an almost angelic face and says, "Well do we have a deal?"
Kitty looks around and then looks Miss Pickles strait in the face and with a large smile says, "Lets do it."
Then Miss Pickles gently takes the small bell with her hand and gives it a ring, just then Albert unlocks the door and enters with a contract in hand and an old time fountain pen and hands it to Kitty, Kitty signs and the next thing she knows she wakes up in this open field with doll in hand and a note in the other that reads:
You have stated that you would do any thing to have your childhood back so you can play with your doll all day long and play hide and go seek in an open field with your friends. Well now it has come to pass here you will stay in the African grass lands with doll in hand and playing hide and go seek from all that want you to be their friends, to name a few, lions, hyenas, and natives that love to feast on human flesh, so hide well and live do not hide and die!!!!!
Just then Kitty hears something in the grass and starts hiding for her life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Days go by and then she sees this group of little people, pigmies for lack of a better word and they are cornered by a lion that is about to feast on their little bodies, so without a second thought kitty takes that doll that is in her hand and cracks it over the head of the lion with such force the lion drops dead right where it stands.
There is pure silence as both Kitty and the pigmies just sit there looking at each other and then they take her hand and lead her to their village where they tell the elders of her bravery and selfless act of courage.
Then this one pigmy comes to Kitty and in English introduces himself as Babatala thanks her for her selfless act of courage he goes on to say that he learned English from an Englishman that stayed with them for a year while on safari, and then he went on to ask how she made it to there part of the world, Kitty told them the story of the evil Miss Pickles. All of the pigmies were sadden by her story, but so happy of her bravery that they made her queen.
They went and had a royal banquet in her honor and bestowed many gifts to their new queen, but Kitty was still sad on how Miss Pickles played on her emotions. And Babalata could not help but notice and he asked Kitty how he can help her, but Kitty was so sadden that she said that tomorrow I will let my wishes be known to you but for now I must rest, so with that said the festivities ended.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning Kitty emerges from her Royal Hut and summons Babalata over and tells him of her play to get back at Miss Pickles, and then Babalata told the whole village of the queens plan and they get into motion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two weeks later Miss Pickles receives a telegram that read:
The Most Clairvoyant Miss Pickle Queen Balama (Kitty in Pigmo), would like you to travel to the African grasslands, she is in need of your clairvoyant ways, you see she has been at battle with the neighboring village and has run out of options to avoid ruin.
So Miss Pickles and her butler Albert make way to the African grasslands and were counting all of the money that they can squeeze out of Queen Balama.
As they enter the village they are met by Babalata and he welcomes them to their village and leads them over the Grand Hut where Queen Balama holds all official state functions.
As Miss Pickles and Albert enter the hut it is very dark and silent inside they go to ask Babalata where's Queen Balama? And Babalata says in a laud voice SILANCE!!!!!
The next thing they know a flap in the huts wall is opened and the light shines on the Queens face it is Kitty and Kitty says:
"Do you remember me? Yes that is right I am one of the many that you have hoodwinked, bamboozled, and stole from, you left me out here to die, but die I did not, instead I was made Queen of the realm and now all the power is in my hands and I will use said power to ruin the both of you, you will never bamboozle or hoodwink anyone again."
With that said Miss Pickles and Albert went for the huts door but to no avail just then the walls were turned down and they were surrounded by the whole village young, old, male, and female alike and with blow guns loaded with poison darts pulled up to their mouths and with one orchestrated blow both Miss Pickles and Albert were made into instant pincushions and they just dropped bringing the end to their tyranny
