Kleenex Regular Tissues Vs. Kleenex Lotion Tissues

Kleenex is the name synonymous with tissues, but the regular and Lotion varieties of Kleenex tissues are very different from each other.

The Kleenex brand of tissues was created in 1924 by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, as a way to remove cold cream.

They sell their various products in 170 countries around the world and have long been a brand associated with a quality. The words Kleenex and tissue are often interchangeable with each other. It doesn't seem to matter what brand I use, I often end up referring to all of them as Kleenex.

Kleenex tissues used to come in one basic type, although it was sold in a variety of ways. There are the extra tall boxes, the standard shorter boxes and the stand up boxes with a roll of tissues inside, instead of a flat pile. Those tend to be a little annoying to me because sometimes the whole roll tries to pull out when I go to take one piece. So I prefer the standard flat boxes of Kleenex tissues.

They also used to be sold in larger quantities per box, so it seemed that they hoped the average consumer would not notice that the Kleenex tissue count, in the standard sized box, had dropped over the years. Presumably this was done to keep the cost artificially down. Recently I noticed the count went up some again along with the price. I guess they couldn't drop the count any lower without losing customers, or maybe they realized the ploy wasn't working anymore.

The newer breed of tissues, like Kleenex Lotion tissues, was created to ease raw noses that are caused by blowing your nose excessively. Colds and allergies can make your nostrils raw and tender. Kleenex Lotion tissues are supposed to help keep your nose moisturized and I will admit they help a bit, but I would rather put a small amount of Vaseline on if my nose is that raw.

The Kleenex Lotion tissues do feel softer to the touch. For me the problem is, they also feel greasier when I touch them. When using a Kleenex Lotion or any moisture added tissue I equate it to the feel I get when I have too much hand lotion in my hand. I don't know what to do with the excess. I always have the unpleasant urge to go wipe my hand off or go wash my hands, if I pick up a Kleenex Lotion tissue, even if I don't use it. That what makes me thouroughly dislike this particular variety of Kleenex brand tissues. I know there are people who swear by the moist variety of Kleenex Lotion tissues. When I need a tissue I am trying to remove the moistness and the messy feel, not add to it. If I have no other choice when I need a tissue I will use it, but I would prefer not to.

Kleenex regular tissues are strong and plenty soft for most uses. I have never had a complaint with the product for that feature. The Kleenex regular are the standard I hold all other tissues to.

I have even Kleenex regular tissues for many arts and crafts projects. We used to make Kleenex tissue roses and as part of a greeting card project.

I even had to use them for physical therapy exercises to grab with my toes. I was having terrible growth pains in my legs in junior high school. And the therapist gave me a multitude of leg and foot exercise to do to help relive the pain. One of them was grabbing Kleenex regular tissues with my toes over and over.

As children we used Kleenex regular tissues to add to our Barbie doll's ever growing wardrobe .

Kleenex regular tissues have served many purposes for me throughout my life. They have been in many places I have traveled and lived too, so the Kleenex brand has been with me since I was small. My choice between the two is definitely the Kleenex regular tissues.
