Materials:
12 ounces worsted weight yarn (the model was made with Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Color 356 Amethyst)
Circular knitting needles size 11, or size required to knit to gauge
Crochet hook size H/8.5 mm (optional)
Yarn needle
Finished size: 66 inches long by 33 inches wide
Gauge: 3 sts = 1 inch; 4 rows = 1 inch
Note: When creating the purl increase, work the first stitch into the back of the stitch, then into the front, creating the distinctive beaded edge. This method is the reverse of the increase method generally used in making this type of increase.
Beginning at point, cast on 4 st.
Row 1: P into back and front of first st (p inc), p to last st, work p inc in last st.
Row 2: p across
Row 3: Repeat row 1
Row 4 (Right side): p 1 (yo, sl 1, k 1, psso) to last st, p 1.
Repeat rows 1 through 4 until piece measures 33 inches from point to upper edge, ending with Row 3. Bind off loosely in knit. Use yarn needle to weave in loose ends.
Optional: If fringe is desired, cut yarn into 10-inch long pieces. Fold each strand in half and use crochet hook to knot fringe along edges of triangle. Trim ends of fringe if necessary.
