Knitted Necklaces Look and Feel Great Hanging from the Neck
How to Make a Knitted Necklace
Materials Needed:
Two balls of yarn
Straight knitting needle size 9
Crochet hook size K
Jewelry clasp
One spool cotton thread
Size 9 double pointed knitting needle (2)
Tapestry needle
Instructions for Making a Knitted Necklace:
Step 1- Once you have picked the color yarn you will be using, you are ready to begin the process of making your knitted necklace.
Step 2- Use the size 9 needle and yarn to make eight stitches. Knit in stockinet stitch until you reach the desired length you want the necklace.
Step 3- Use the yarn necklace to form an I-cord. Use the size 6 double pointed needle to make five stitches. Knit across and push the knitted stitch to the other end of needle. Do not turn. Next, draw the yarn from your last stitch across the back stitches. Hold yarn back while you knit across again. Slide your stitches to the other end of needle and repeat until you have the desired length of necklace.
Step 4- In order to hold the knitted necklace together sew loose ends together or sew a loop on one end. Then slide the loop over the button. This forms a clasp to hold you knitted necklace together.
Steps 5- For a crochet necklace simply use a size K crochet hook and yarn. Tie slip knot around the crochet hook and begin the process. Wrap yarn over hook back to front between the hook. Now knot it to form a loop and draw your yarn through the loop. Make as many chains as you like by repeating the process until you have what you desire.
The knitted or crocheted necklace is now completed. The color of the yarn thread can be any color of your choosing. Women usually choose a color that will go with any outfit. White is always a good color to choose because it goes with any outfit in your closet.
