Know the Hoax Messages in Orkut and Yahoo

Since last two days I received the following message for at least more than ten times in Orkut message box. I am not sure which the actual source of this message is. I also tried to do little research on this message on Internet and found the same message appearing in several forums with little change in few wordings.

"IIT Bombay student Anupam Biswas 5th Year Mechanical Engg is suffering from Colukabki (caused due to excessive nabad and depression) a disease very rarely found (3 in a billion). His condition is very pathetic and the treatment is very expensive, obviously his parents are not able to afford his treatment. Orkut has agreed to pay 1 paisa after each time this message is forward. So please pass to all your friends and let's try to save someone's life. It will take < 1 min from your life to help saving someone's life."

First thing is what is 'Colukabki'? It is so rear disease that there no information in Internet about the life threatening disease. I tried to find through Google and wikipedia to get some information about this about this disease and needless to say that Google returns no result for that.

Secondly, IIT Bombay is one of the renowned technical institutions of India. The message says about '5^th year Mechanical Engg.'. Per my knowledge there is no such degree in IIT Bombay. All most all engineering course in IIT Bombay are of 4 years or 3 years.

Thirdly, do you ever hear that Yahoo, Google or Orkut pays people to forward their message? If Orkut pay money for each time people forward the message that might be a good thing to help people. In that case Orkut or Yahoo will directly declare some process for everyone to use that facility so that each needy people can help from them. Whenever any large company provides help to some needy people the process called CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). Any company wants publicity for their CSR work. And in that case the company will clearly have some open process for public. Again, how get Orkut benefited by forwarding that message within Orkut users? I don't find any announcement from Orkut regarding this initiative. By forwarding the message Orkut will be overloaded and that is very bad for Orkut. So, Orkut won't step out for this type of initiatives. Undoubtedly Orkut won't agree to take more loads for this particular message.

This is not the only one message we (Orkut users) usually get with almost same content. These messages are hoax message and try to understand the message content. There are some people who want to create this kind of hoax message which will reduce the performance of any system like Orkut. So please beware of these hoax messages and don't forward them to your friends. If you forward the message it will just affect the performance of the systems wherein you are using the messaging system. Just try to avoid those messages and help Yahoo or Orkut to serve you better.
