Know How to Monetize Your Articles

Mark Mielke
If you have a blog, or write for any kind of paid to write site, then you might be aware of the fact that you need to monetize your articles. What does monetizing your articles mean? Let me see if I can explain. Do you have google adsense, or at least know what google adsense is? It's how google makes it's massive profits. It is advertisement. That's it. When you hook up google adsense to your article, they match certain advertisements with specific keywords that are similar in subject to the advertisement itself. Keyword matching is crucial when monetizing your articles. The more good keywords you have, the better chance you have of making money through advertising. Of course, keep in mind that google adsense is not the only keyword advertising program out there. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of smaller companies that use their own form of keyword advertising. There are even websites devoted entirely to advertising in this form.

How do you make money of monetizing your articles? When you add the companies' program to your article, and remember it doesn't necessarily have to be google adsense, they will match up the advertisements to the appropriate keywords. When somebody reads your work, they are exposed to the advertisement. If they click on the link associated with that advertisement, they companies that owns it will pay the advertising company for it and they will split the profits with you. Of course, if you intend to make serious money off of a blog, you should write often and monetize each entry. Drive as much traffic to your blog as possible. The more people who visit, the more who will click on links.

What kind of advertisement will you get in your article? It all depends on the keywords. For example, if you talk about love or dating, then you open the door for love horoscope and dating service advertisements. Of course, talking about love horoscopes or dating services in your article will allow them to advertise on your article too. It's quite simple when you think about it.

Now, if you talk about food or cooking, what do you think will be advertised on your article? Food industries and chefs will load it up with their shameless advertising. The same goes for talking about sex, bodybuilding work outs, music, or yoga. There will always be a company that can advertise on your article. You just have to know what to say.

Now let us talk search tags. You monetize your article all you want. You can fill it up from start to finish with a variety of keywords, but if you do not have anyone reading it, you will not make any money off of it. That is where search tags can come in handy. Search tags are basically words to be looked for when an internet browser searches the internet. If somebody types in love on google search, and you write an article about love and make that a search tag, then your article will come in the search. It may not be on the very first page, but it will come up somewhere. Associated Content, the lovely site you are on right now, has a great search tag option. It is meant to drive traffic to your article, cause the more people who read your article, the more money they will make and, by extension, you will make.

Another good technique for driving traffic to your blog or article is simply coming up with a good name for it. Nobody is going to read an article with a boring or vague title. Depending on what site you are writing for, titles should be either catchy or seriously informative. Associated Content prefers the latter. No matter what you do with your title, make sure it lets people know what it is about and that it sounds like something people want to read.

Have you noticed something about this article as you've been reading? It is the perfect example of monetizing. Take a good look back at it and you'll noticed I use a variety of keywords. Based on what I have in this article, I can advertise a rapper's new album, the gym that just opened around the corner, the freelance writer's site, craigslist, google, and male enhancement treatments. This same concept also allows me to choose from a great many search tags as well. So you see? Even in an article such as this one, a wide variety of advertisers can cash in on this article. I'm not saying you have to follow my instructions word for word, but I am claiming to have, at least to an extent, good knowledge about monetizing articles. You would be surprised how many people do not know how to properly monetize anything. What's that you say? I'm amazingly smart and talented? Nah, I'm just like you, cause anyone can do the things I do. Anyone can monetize an amazing article.
