As soon as I had it opened I couldn't wait to get onto these elegant black weighing scales. I got on with my slippers on and the reading was 130 lbs. On our old fashioned bathroom scales, that we have had for 20 years, my weight was 125 lbs, so I had been under an illusion.
We had breakfast and did some stuff, and then I came back to the scales. It states that they are "Instant Weight, Body Fat, Hydration, Muscle and Bone Mass Measurements that includes Built-in Memory for 8 Personal Profiles".
I just love the look of them. They are impact-resistant tempered glass, the color is black, and they are supposed to be four times stronger than regular glass. They have 4 silver circles and your feet have to cover these if you want anything more than just your weight.
To turn them on you just stand on them, and your weight will show in the top center LCD display. It comes up in blue numbers. If it is not on pounds, you just have to turn the scales over to the back, and where it says 'unit', press it until you get the desired one. It comes up in kilograms, and stones as well. When I tell my daughter in England what my weight is the alternatives will come in handy. I normally work it out in my head.
You can key in up to 8 people, and the scales will remember your profile. I had to key in my number, (1), female, height, and age. Then I had to take my socks off to try it out. I stood on the scales and it gave me my weight, and then went off. I tried it several times and it didn't give me any other information.
We went out to a friend's house for Christmas dinner, and once we returned I tried the scales again. I made sure that my feet covered the four metal pads, and again I tried it several times with nothing happening.
I started to do the whole setting up again, and as soon as I pressed the set button to start, it went to 0, and then went through the 4 modes for me.
My weight was now 130.2 lbs, the fat 21.6, water 50.1, muscle 40.9 and bone 5.8. When I checked them against my age the fat should be 24.1-36, so I have really little fat. The water ratio should be 42.1 - 52, so that is okay. The body muscle should be between 34 - 48, so 40.9 is good. My bone ratio should be 4.8 - 5.5 lbs and it is 5.8 lbs. I do have osteoporosis so this reading didn't tell me anything about that.
Now that I have got them working fine, I have keyed in Len's details too. The scales will know which one of us it is.
These scales only come on when you step on them. If you have shoes or socks you will only get your weight. With bare feet you will get all the readings. You don't have to tap them, like the old kind.

As a mentioned this was a gift, but I did go on amazon.com to find out the price. They retail at $99, it was reduced down to $79, and the final cost was $36.95. There was free S. & H. with the order.
My old scales are in the garbage and the new modern, lightweight, digital ones take pride and joy in the bathroom.
So if you are looking for bathroom scales that can let you know if you are underweight, normal, overweight, or obese, look no further. You will be really happy with what you get for your money.
