The Chef's Outfit
The chef's full uniform is made up of several pieces. Most chefs prefer not to wear their full uniform while they are working, but there are respectable hotels and restaurants who insist that the chefs in their restaurants should wear the complete uniform. The most popular of these pieces is the chef's big white hat or what is known as the "toque", which usually symbolizes their profession. These big hats are usually adorned by special decorations on top. Other known pieces of their uniform are the apron and scarf. Most chefs wear these pieces all the time because these have certain purposes; the apron is used to avoid getting the chef's clothes dirty from cooking. The uniform may also have different accessories like a bandana, a tie, a gloves, pants or shoes. These parts however are not compulsory.
Some large chains of restaurants also want their chefs to wear jackets or uniforms that have the brand of the hotel or restaurant printed on them. Wearing of headgear is also important. This is recommended, because it keeps their hair from falling into the food that they are preparing. The special "toque" that the chef wears is just used to recognize that he/she is the chef since all the other people in the kitchen also wears regular caps. When it comes to color, usually the color is white, a color that signifies cleanliness. But this is not really the standardized color. Depending on what the company wants, the uniform may come in other different colors. Some of them prefer dark-colored uniforms to make the stains less visible. The apron, aside from keeping the clothes stain free, it is also used to display the company's logo. Pants are usually the loose ones to provide free movement while cooking. Finally, the shoes must have low heels and also comfortable to allow the chef to move freely around the kitchen.
The Nurse's Uniform
On the other hand, let's talk about the nurse uniform. In the past, the uniforms of nurses were simply white dresses with an apron attached. But as time passed, the dress and apron became a pair of comfortable pants and a tunic. The colors may vary depending on the situation, but the most popular colors are of course the white ones. This helps the patients recognize the nurses. White also gives an impression that the nurses are hygienic and therefore letting the patients at ease knowing that they are in a clean and safe environment.
These uniforms are now available online. Clients could have their uniforms customized according to their preferences. May it be white or any other color, we must remember that it is not the outfit that makes a good chef or nurse but it is on the skill that they possess.
