Know Someone With Sleeping Problems? Consider These Gift Ideas

You May End Up Getting More Sleep, Too

Jeff D Gorman
Sleeplessness is not often considered a major problem, but it can have a damaging effect on your health and overall outlook. It can be hard to concentrate when you don't get enough sleep, and it can be especially dangerous to drive under these conditions.

If you are married to someone suffers with sleeplessness, it can affect you, too. Trust me, I know!! It can be hard to get a solid night's sleep if your partner is fidgeting or hopping in and out of bed all night. You can also feel guilty if your spouse can't sleep while you're sawing logs.

Here are a few gift ideas that can help your spouse get some sleep, which will make both of you feel a lot better.

MICROPEDIC PILLOW
An old lumpy pillow may not be the entire problem, but it would probably help the insomniac to have a high-quality pillow.

Fitness expert Tony Little is touting the Micropedic pillow. It contains millions of "micropedic" cushion beads. The outside is made of spandex, so the pillow conforms to the shape of the head. It also supports the neck to keep the spine in proper alignment.

The pillow costs $59.90.

RELAXATION TAPES
Freedom From Insomnia - Effective Learning Systems says that "you may never hear the end of this tape!" The CD contains an audible program as well as two subliminal programs with music and ocean sounds.

The CD is part of Effective Learning Systems' "Love Tapes" series. It uses a combination of guided meditation and hypnosis

Freedom From Insomnia costs $15.98.

Insight CD - Immrama Institute says this CD will help to "reduce stress, improve sleep and achieve deeper levels of self-awareness and personal insight," all in less than 30 minutes a day. That must be some relaxing CD!

The institute backs up these bold claims with an eight-month money back guarantee. Massage therapists use this CD to keep their clients relaxed.

The CD costs $34.95.

Deep Sleep Every Night - Glenn Harrold's CD "combines clinical hypnotherapy techniques with state-of-the-art digital sound." You can listen to a couple of MP3 samples of these techniques at the Hypnosis Audio website.

After you wake up, you can order the CD there from Diviniti Publishing for 8.95 British pounds. If you would rather deal with American money, you can simply buy it from Amazon as an audio download for $11.21 here.

AROMATHERAPY
Bath & Body Works has a variety of scented products that are designed to promote better sleep. They include Lavender or Vanilla Hand Soap ($6); Lavender or Vanilla Body Lotion ($13); and a Continuous Aromatherapy Electric Diffuser ($15).

Of course, if you want to relax yourself into a near-catatonic state, you can always go with the Soothing Milk Soak Bath ($20). Just make sure someone is there to check on you every once in a while.

GNC also has a variety of aromatherapy products, including a sixpack of fragrant oils for $19.99 or an Earth Solutions Scentball Aromatherapy Room Diffuser for $8.99.

MEMORY FOAM
Everydaycomfort.com sells a line of Isotonic Memory Foam products. They use body heat to mold to the contours of the body in about 10 minutes.

Some of the Memory Foam selections include pillows, mattress pads, 4-position pillows or U-neck travel pillows. You can also get an entire bed set ranging from twin ($945) to king ($1,880).

So as you see, you don't need to give up on your insomniac. There are ways to help them deal with, and hopefully eliminate the problem. If these methods are successful, you may have given someone their best present in years.
