You are sure that you can take care of yourself so you begin to plan. You are sure you want to move out but you're not sure that you are fully prepared. The idea of being on your own makes you feel good but you're a little unsure that you can take care of yourself.
You have to have a job to move out and pay your own bills. If you don't have a job yet the answer is definitely no when it comes to moving out. Go get a job and start over. You will need enough money to pay a security deposit, first months rent and that's just for starters. You have to have utilities, food and at least a little bit of furniture. Most of the things that you need are going to require deposits.
When you first go to move out of your parents house you have to realize that you're not likely to have all the luxuries that you're used to. Once you have to pay the bills yourself you quickly discover that you can't afford the same things that mom and dad can when you first start out. You're going to have to be ready for budgeting and waiting for what you want. Phones, lights, food and a number of other needs will always have to come first. If you're not prepared to budget your money so that you cover the bills and get what you need prior to getting what you want you're not ready to move out.
Leaving home because you feel smothered may not be the best reason. It can cause you to leave too soon and run into problems along the way that wouldn't have been there otherwise. When you get angry and move out just because you feel that you aren't getting enough space you'll likely be unprepared.
Are you ready to wonder if the bills will be paid and if you are going to have food on the table? If you think you are then you may be ready to move out. You're more ready to move out when you know that you have to make sure these are paid. Paying the bills requires making a budget, following it and hopefully saving for a bigger place. Are you ready?
You are the only one that will truly know if you are really ready to move out and get take care of yourself. If you have a job, some money saved and the ability to take care of the things that you need then you know you're well on your way to moving out.
