Knuckleheads Bowling and Indoor Amusement Park: A Review

Janet Trieschman
Knuckleheads Bowling and Indoor Amusement Park is located in Wisonsin Dells, Wisconsin. It is located next door to the Tanger Outlet Complex and is attached to Buffalo Phil's. If you have never heard of it, think of it as a cross between an indoor amusement park with rides, a bowling alley and an indoor gaming facility.

The indoor amusement rides are pint sized version of the large ones and consists of Go Karts, Roller Coaster, a 4D Theater, the Himalaya, a Flying Tiger, Baja Buggies, Bumper Cars, Ball-O-City, Spring Ride, and a Tornado. Payment is made either by each ride individually or by purchasing a bracelet that allows one to ride multiple times.

The gaming facility is comparable to a Dave and Busters or an upgraded Chuck E Cheese. Playing each game with payment of tokens and earn tickets. These tickets are redeemable for prizes.

Knucklehead offers the ability to celebrate your birthday with them, offering party packages. They also have bowling lanes, a gift shop and a rather small snack shop. But it is also attached to the very large Buffalo Phil's Grille eating establishment so there are quite a few options to refuel.

Whether you are experiencing bad weather or not, Knuckleheads can be a great location to visit while vacationing in the Wisconsin Dells area. Set an expense limit for your family before visiting this establishment. The price of the fun pass can be rather high compared to other amusement parks. One could get carried away with the purchase of tokens so setting a limit is a good idea. I would also recommend choosing to eat a snack here rather than an entire meal. This idea will save your wallet from being hit too hard and quite honestly, the food isn't five star quality.

We visited in the fall one early evening. It wasn't very crowded. It took a few minutes for us to get the lay of the land and figure out what we should opt for. We choose to purchase tokens and play games. We looked at all the rides, none of which were being utilized. While we could have paid for our girls to ride them individually, we choose not to do so. We actually had as great time playing together as a family and pooling our ticket earnings then allowing the girls to spend them at the redemption center.
