Koi Pond Tour

Some to the sprinkle of bits of specialized fish food hitting the surface water!

Some simply hide under the closest piece of vegetation in site. It is odd how a brilliant jewel of a fish can turn invisible almost immediately in a slight tangle of water lily stems!

The biannual Tour of Ponds sponsored by the Oregon Koi & Water garden Society was a lovely journey spanning many miles. The Tour Booklet was well set up, beautifully illustrated and full of interesting tid bits on care & feeding of Koi. The maps included in the Pond Tour Book made finding the sites easy to find. Each location was well marked and identified as being part of the tour.

The twelve ponds being shown could be viewed in the order of North to South with a slight eastern detour up Highway 138 East to the Dogwood Resort Motel in Idleyld Park. Bill & Mary Harper, Neil & Diane Thompson, Lonnie & Dixie Harris, Dave and Robin Lugar, Matt & Tracy Flury, Melton and Darcy Hefner, Dale & Maggie Roark, Velda Traylor & Rick Richtik, Randy & Kim Brock, Mike & Mary Ann Winters, and Elsie Richardson all graciously opened their yards and ponds to share a common joy with those making the trek.
