Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing Mascara Review

A Mascara that Conditions

Alexis Valentine
Mascaras are a must have in any makeup kit, whether you wear a full face of makeup every day or are the low maintenance girls who prefers to go natural most days of the year. A good mascara will bring out you eyes by making the lashes thick, longer and darker. Now a days mascaras do so much more than that. One in particular that I've tried was Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing mascara. The following is my pros and cons for this product.

Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing mascara contains abyssinia oil, which is meant to condition as well as give your lashes volume and length. This mascara does not contain parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances or dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs or triclosan. According to Sephora's product description for Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing mascara it has "an innovative brush with revolutionary microbristles that are strategically placed to maximize the amount of product that can be lavished onto lashes-sans clumping."

What I liked about this mascara was that it comes in four shades, not just the typical black and brown. I really liked the slender, stiff brush because it made handling and applying mascara much more precise and mess free. Thick, bushy brushes tend to get mascara all around my eyes, and cleaning it up is such a hassle. I've been using Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing mascara at least twice a week for several weeks now and I've yet to have any problems with smudging, smearing or flaking. Those three traits are what I'm looking for in a good mascara and this one passed the test. Flaking is one of my biggest concern as a contact lens wearer because of how painful it is when debris gets trapped underneath my lenses. I also hate checking myself to make sure there isn't a mess around my eyes. I prefer to just put on my makeup and not have to think about it until the end of the day when I have to take it off. Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing mascara is definitely a no hassle product in my opinion. I've also noticed that it lasts pretty much old day too. I've never had to reapply my mascara once. This Korres mascara also does a good job of separating and defining my lashes, as well as holding the curls.

The downside to Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing mascara is that it cost $20, which in regards to some of the other mascaras I've tried it's really not that pricey but still more so than drugstore brands. What really disappointed me about this Korres mascara was that it was suppose to lengthen and thicken my lashes but I haven't noticed either when using it. It was nothing dramatic or noticeable if it did either at all.

My overall impression of Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing mascara is that it's a great every day mascara, but it's nothing exceptional. It's very unlikely to draw attention to your eyes at night. I also don't think it's good enough to spend $20 on, and I don't plan on buying the full version.
