A paradise in the ''Gods Own Country'', Kovalam is a tourist's dream come true. The miles of white sands washed away by the blue waters of the Arabian Sea, coconut trees and rocky promontories make this beach a real paradise on earth.

Kovalam is really an unforgettable holiday in your tour map with the sun, sea and sand blended in its all beauty. The silver sands, palm fringed beaches and boundless blue waters conjoin to give an exquisite experience and sense of well-being.

Meaning a grove of coconuts, Kovalam is a real experience where the silver sands meet the cold waters of the Arabian Sea. The massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters, ideal for sea bathing. The coast at many places is lined with beautiful patches of coral reef. The pleasure at the beach cannot be expressed in words, but it has to be experienced, preferably on a full moon night, at a hopping beach party.

The crescent-shaped beaches of Kovalam can be divided into three -- the Lighthouse beach, Eve's or Hawa beach and the Ashok beach. The Lighthouse beach is the southernmost beach and perhaps the most popular amongst the tourists. A rocky promontory separates it from the second beach, Hawa, which in turn is again disjoint from the third beach, Ashok, by a rocky promontory. Apart from these crescent shaped beach, there are a few other lesser-known beaches that are equally beautiful and charming in their appeal.

This natural bay is ideal for kayaking, swimming, surfing and skiing. One can swim in the shallow blue water and have a sunbath in the exotic tropical sun. The coast at many places is lined with beautiful patches of coral reefs or you can crest the waves on logs of lashed woods on catamarans. Besides this, you can also go for Ayurvedic message and treatment. You could rejuvenate yourself with oil baths and ayurvedic massages that are offered in abundance here. Yoga (Indian way of meditation) centers are also plenty in Kovalam. Some theaters around the beach perform the traditional Kerala art form, Kathakali and ethnic martial art, Kalarippayattu.

Kovalam offers excellent accommodation ranging from budget to top class hotels.
