Kristen Chenoweth and Maddie's Corner

Kristin Chenoweth is best known from the many talented aspects of her life. She is seen on stage, in films and on television. Her work ranges from Glee, Ugly Betty and Pushing Daisies on television, to her Christmas Album, A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas, to her roles in Four Christmases and Tinkerbell to her time on stage in such productions as Music in the Air, Encores!, Stairway to Paradise and Wicked. But it is the time when she was doing Wicked that pets will most appreciate, especially those in shelters and with rescue groups. During this time, Kristin Chenoweth decided that she needed a dog in her life and had come to the conclusion that a Maltese was the perfect breed for her as they are hypoallergenic. While Kristin was on stage doing Wicked, she sent her best friend to get her Maltese, whom she name Maddie after Madeline Kahn, from a breeder on Staten Island. Maddie has become so important in Kristin's life that Kristen has decided to reach out and help other pets by starting Maddie's Corner.

Maddie's Corner, which is outcome of Kristen Chenoweth's beloved Maltese, Maddie, is a website that was created to celebrate that bond that people often have with their pets. The mission of this website is "to focus on activities to bring attention to the plight of homeless animals in shelters and rescue groups." With this focus in mind, the first order of business for Maddie's Corner has been to raise funds, and awareness, for many shelters and rescue groups throughout America. This has been accomplished by taking donations at Maddie's Corner.org and by creating a shelter registry where each animal can get exposure which will hopefully get it to its "forever home". Maddie's Corner also has ongoing projects such as its Maddie's Clubs and Angels for Angels; awareness and education topics that cover such items as volunteering and therapy pets and their importance along with other topics.

Often times stars, such as Kristen Chenoweth, become something more than just a normal person, especially in the eyes of their many fans. It is nice to see stars who are interested in the same things that many ordinary people are, such as helping the millions of animals that are in shelters and rescue situations that are patiently waiting for their "forever home". Maddie and Kristen are a great pair and through their caring for each other, they are striving to help other pets and people become great pairs. How great is that?
