Emily Griffin
Kroaky's Karaoke is a Japanese style karaoke company that has 8 private rooms and a public lounge. Opening in August 2009, Kroaky's is the only karaoke company like it withinin the Sarasota and Manatee counties. I have gone several times and it is great fun! The service is amazing and the company has been quickly building up the song selection. They currently have 16,000 classical and top 40 hits, over 2,000 spanish songs, as well as 25,000 Aisan songs that are in the following languages: Jananese, Chinese, Cantonese, Korean, Thai, philipino and Vietnamese languages.

There have been many rave reviews from customers. One very, very, happy customer says "The best place to go in Sarasota b bar! This place was sooooo much fun!" Kroaky's also has the occasional karaoke contest as well, which is always fun for those who have a competitive spirit within themselves! Danielle Hollobaugh being one of the most recent winners of the grand prize last summer!!

If you are the type of person that does not like to get up on stage in front of a large crowd of people, kroaky's is perfect because you do not have to sing in front of anybody else other than the friends that you came with if you rent a room. All of the rooms are clean, sleek and modern. Although at first the remote control is a bit difficult to operate, once you get the hang of it, it is very easy to operate. When I first used it, I accidentally entered my song into the system several times and didn't even realize it until after the fact! Thankfully, out waitress helped ups figured it out and we were back to singing our hearts out! Private rooms for adults are 5 dollars an hour, per person. Kids and students (Student ID required) is 4/hr per person and seniors/active military (with military ID) 4/hr per person.

There are also kids parties which is $12 per child for two hours, two slices of pizza and unlimited soda's. Room 8 has a minimum charge of 180 dollars for 15 kids. Lounge minimum charge is $240 for 20 kids plus a dj which is an extra 40 dollars. The larger rooms require and advance reservation and a deposit of 30-50 dollars. You can call kroaky's karaoke at 941-926-3434 for more information. You can also email them at info@kroakys.com or go to their website at http://kroakys.com/ and their facebook.

I've never done karaoke but would have when younger! Great article!

Great article. As a musician, I have my reservations about karaoke because it helped kill the live music scene in the clubs. Of course, there's a lot of people who wouldn't get a chance to perform in public if it weren't for karaoke.
