Cat and Dog Food is Being Recalled by Kroger

Kroger announced it is recalling cat and dog food made in a factory owned by the company. This follows tests that found the pet food may have come in contact with aflatoxins.

Stores that are affected by the dog and cat food recall include Kroger stores, Baker's, Dillons, Gerbes, Food 4 Less, Jay C, Hilander, Owen's, Pay Less and Scott's in 19 states.

Some pets will seem sluggish or have a lack of appetite. Also, a yellow tint in the eyes of a pet may be the result of ingesting a food with aflatoxins. To read more about aflatoxins please visit this website.

Nineteen states are involved in the recall of this pet food. To view a list of the states involved in the recall please read the information at this location. The brands that are part of the recall include Pet Pride, Old Yeller and Kroger Value brand pet foods. All recalled cat and dog food came from the factory owned by Kroger in Springfield Tennessee.

Consumers are asked to stop using any pet food product that is part of this recall. Consumers may return any pet products that are part of the recall to the place of purchase for a complete refund or exchange for another pet food.
