Yzma's character is played by actress Eartha Kitt, is an evil women who wants to throw the emperor off his throne and take over everything. This movie starts out with how Kronk has turned his life around from the first movie. He's a chef and has broken the ties with Yzma. That is until he falls pry to her evil scheme of using Kronk to sell youth potion to his senior citizen friends. Unfortunately for poor Kronk that's not his only problem.
While dealing with Yzma, he becomes too wrapped up with beating out Ms. Birdwell's camp scouts in a variety of obstacles. Ms. Birdwell is played by new comer Tracey Ullman.
Throughout the movie are some musical numbers. Parents may find the whole "squeak squeak" talk a bit annoying, but otherwise may find laughs through the movie with their kids. John Goodman and Wendie Malick's characters Pacha and Chicha are in the movie for a brief time. Disney has kept the story going along with the two characters new baby still being in the storyline.
The one thing Kronk would really like is to get the big thumbs up from his father. The movie shows how he feels he's failed his father through a series of flashbacks of him growing up. The only way to find out if he does is to check out this movie! The DVD features games such as the "Kronk's Brain Game". In this game Kronk has a list of items he needs to get done. You control how his brain works and help him through challenges.
Another game is "Pyramid Scheme". The object is to reach the top of the house on the hill by answering Emperor Kuzco's trivia questions. The reason why the object is to reach the top of the hill is because through the movie, it's one of Kronk's goals to have a house on a hill to make his father proud. Keep in mind that David Spade who was great as Emperor Kuzco in the first movie and for the brief time he's in this movie, does not voice the character in this game.
If you're into how movies are made, you'll surely love Disney's "How to Cook a Movie" hosted by Patrick Warburton. The movie itself is approximately 75 minutes and has Dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. The DVD offers language tracks in both Spanish and French. This DVD has Walt Disney's "Fast play" so you can skip over the movie previews and go back to them if you'd like to check them out at another time.
The ever popular Disney Channel now has come out with the "Emperor's New School" but sadly David Spade does not play Kuzco and it just doesn't work for me. Thankfully they have recruited the same voice talents for main characters Kronk and Yzma. The series has just started and hopefully others will still give it a chance regardless of the voice talents. If Disney decides of a third movie, let's hope David Spade joins in on the fun!
