Kruk & Kuip's Rules for Fans of Giants Baseball at AT&T Park
Three Actions to Avoid so You Are Not Crossed Out on Television by Kruk and Kuip
Kruk & Kuip Rule 1: Bring Your Glove
AT&T Park is known for its frequency of fan-catchable foul balls, since the seats are so close to the field. While Kruk and Kuip offer praise to those fans who bring their baseball gloves in preparation for a foul ball heading their way, Kruk and Kuip are merciless to those fans who attempt to catch foul balls and fail because they did not bring their gloves. While they usually give credit for a vigorous attempt, they will inevitably interject that the fans who fail to bring home a foul ball souvenir should have brought their gloves.
Kruk & Kuip Rule 2: No Cell Phones
Although cell phones are ubiquitous in modern culture, they have no place in a modern ballpark. Not only are cell phones disturbing to other fans sitting near you, but they are a surefire sign of someone who is too wrapped up in their own self to detach and enjoy a baseball game like a normal person. If Kruk and Kuip catch you talking on your cell phone, you will surely be crossed out on television, despised by those sitting near you, and you could miss out on the biggest play of the game. Do yourself and other fans a favor by keeping your phone in your pocket; or better yet, turn it off completely.
Kruk & Kuip Rule 3: No Dodger Gear
If you are Dodger fan, and the Dodgers are in town, then wearing Dodger Blue is marginally acceptable so long as you behave yourself. However, if the Dodgers are not in town and you are wearing Dodger gear just to get a reaction, or if you are being disruptive or brazenly rude in Dodger Blue, then you will surely get scratched out on television by Kruk and Kuip, and possibly even thrown out of the park. The Giants/Dodgers rivalry is one of the most storied rivalries in professional sports, and it is no secret that Giants fans have no love for Dodger Blue. If Kruk and Kuip catch you in Dodger gear at a non-Dodgers game, then expect to be made fun of on television by the best television broadcasters in professional baseball, Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper.
