Kwanzaa MySpace Graphics

Kwanzaa is a holiday that began in 1966 during the Black Nationalist Movement. It was designed by Maulana Karenga to help people celebrate themselves and their history. The word Kwanzaa is derived from Swahili and means "first fruits." Searching for Kwanzaa graphics can be time consuming, but if you use these websites your MySpace page can be ready for Kwanzaa in no time.

Graphicsarcade.com has 6 different Kwanzaa graphics, as well as Kwanzaa screensavers and wallpapers. Three of the graphics include the kinara candle. They are very eye-catching and will add a nice holiday touch to any MySpace page.

The graphics at soulcitygraphics.com are my favorite and will be featured on my page this holiday season. Several of their graphics depict people celebrating, a few contain the kinara candle and some simply say "Happy Kwanzaa" with Kwanzaa themed pictures as the background. This website also contains a graphic of the Kwanzaa postage stamp created in 2004 showing seven figures in colorful robes symbolizing the Seven Principles.

Youcodes.com features graphics of these Seven Principles of Kwanzaa. The first principle is Unity, or Umoja in Swahili. This day should be spent striving for unity in the home and community. The second day should be spent on Self-Determination, or Kujichagulia. So take time to think about, create and define yourself on December 27th. On the third day, Ujima, people come together to build and maintain the community. This is also a day to work on the problems of others and try to solve them collectively. Ujamma, is about cooperative economics; building and maintaining stores, shops and other businesses in order to profit from them together. The fifth day is called Nia, which stands for purpose. This day should be spent building and developing the community back to its traditional greatness. Next is Kuumba, the day of creativity. This is a great day to beautify the community and make it more beneficial than it was when we inherited it. The last day of Kwanzaa is Imani. This is a day of faith; a day to believe in ourselves and our community with all our heart, to believe in the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

The website wishafriend.com features 2 different graphics. The first one says "Happy Kwanzaa" over a soothing ocean background. The second one features a peaceful candle as the background.

Webfetti.com has graphics, smileys, layouts and gadgets featuring Kwanzaa themes.

123glitter.com has seven nice graphics with Kwanzaa greetings to choose from. I especially like the first graphic which states, "Kwanzaa is more than a yearly ritual."

Another website featuring Kwanzaa graphics is pyzam.com. Unfortunately, they only have two available at this point. They both offer Kwanzaa greetings and one features a kinara.

Myspacebrand.com has some unique graphics. They feature a "Habari Gani" graphic which is the standard greeting for each day of Kwanzaa and means, "what's new?" or "what's the news?" and a "Harambee" graphic which is the motto of Kenya.

If you use any of the websites above you will have a very festive MySpace page during Kwanzaa this year. Harambee!
