Kyjen Intellicube Dog Toy: Dog Toys That Are Made to Last

It is sometimes very difficult to locate dog toys that keep my dogs attention and last more than a minute. The Kyjen Company has developed a dog toy that does both for my dogs. Kyjen makes a few different toys that really engage the dog in playing more than the standard game of fetch and manage to keep the dog interested in the toy.

The Intellicube has grown to be one of my Scottie Dogs favorite toys. Kyjen designed this particular toy as a well-constructed fabric box structure, with one slit cut in each of the six sides of the cube. It comes complete with four small, brightly colored, three-inch diameter squeaky balls. The four balls fit nicely inside the cube, hiding them from the view of your dog.

The first time you give this toy to your dog, you will get a kick out of how he reacts when he realizes there is something inside the cube. My Scottie poked and pushed the cube with his big head until he realized he had to reach inside the cube to get the balls out. Nothing is funnier than to see your dog with his nose temporarily stuck in the cube. Of course, one swipe with his paw and the toy cube will fall to the floor, but the sight of him wearing that box on his snout, for even a minute, is hilarious. The Kyjen Intellicube is durable and lasts for a long time. One of my three dogs is afraid of the cube, though he loves the balls that come with the toy and plays with them everyday. We have three of these toys in our home, the first of which I purchased two years ago. My dogs have only managed to put a hole in one of the four original balls, which I then disposed of, but I consider this toy one of the best constructed toys I have found available.

The Kyjen Company also makes a number of other toys using the same general idea, only, this line of toys are called Egg Babies. The Egg Babies come in the form of living creatures such as a Turtle, Platypus, Duck, Hedgehog, Dinosaur, Alligator and Fish. There is a slit placed in the stomach of the stuffed animal where your pet will find access to the three squeaky eggs loaded inside. My dogs love the Egg Babies toys as much as the Intellicube toy and they are made just as durable. Recently, when I purchased an Egg Babies toy, it also came with a package of three replacement eggs, which was a great-added bonus.

My original purchase of a Kyjen Company Intellicube and Egg Babies Duck was made at my local Petsmart store. For some reason, though, I have found it difficult to locate these toys at a conventional store in recent months. It appears to be much easier to locate these toys on the Internet at website's such as www.dog.com and www.petedge.com.
