Kyle Busch is a professional race car driver. On the track, speeding is the name of the game. However, driving at 128 miles per hour in a 45 mph speed zone is against the law. He must have forgotten where he was driving. How does a professional race car driver not recognize a public road from a race track?
His excuse was that he was test driving a new car and got carried away. People that drive that fast sometimes get carried away in a hearse. He's lucky he didn't have an accident. Kyle Busch was test driving a yellow Lexus LFA, two-seater sports coupe. Maybe he figured other drivers would move out of his way when they saw this yellow car flying down the road.
Key Busch made a public apology Tuesday to his fans, but an apology doesn't make what he did right. A person that is a professional race car driver should set a good example for others. When asked why he was driving so fast his reply was, "This is just a toy." The car was on loan from the manufacturer. A toy car doesn't go 128 miles per hour.
There is a possibility that Kyle Busch could lose his driver's license. According to North Carolina law just going 15 miles per hour over the speed limit is good for a driver's license being revoked for 30 days. Busch was going quite a bit over the 45 mph speed limit.
Kyle Busch is on currently on probation with NASCAR for an incident earlier this month. If Kyle Busch does have to turn in his driver's license, will he still be allowed to race on a track? That's a very good question and but the officials at NASCAR would not elaborate on that.
Everyone makes mistakes, that a given. Some mistakes are potentially more dangerous than others. If someone had pulled out in front of Kyle Busch while he was cruising along at 128 miles per hour, that could have been devastating. What if a child had walked out in the road at the wrong moment?
