Kyle Phelps of Chaffee MO Dies in Fatal Car Accident

On April 20, 2010 at 4:20 p.m., Kyle Phelps, 16 of Chaffee, Missouri died after he lost control of his vehicle on a curve and struck an embankment. The accident occurred on Route EE just 1 mile east of Delta. Phelps was headed eastbound when he failed to negotiate the curve. He was not wearing a safety belt and died on the scene. The boy was pronounced dead at 4:43 p.m. by Cape County Coroner, John Clifton.

Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop E, responded to the scene. This is their 22^nd fatality for the year.
