We all like to be associated with and belong to the 'in crowd,' especially if it is a group that is truly at the top its game. And what does it take to be in a top-notch automotive in crowd? Well, cars that can hit 60 mph with the stopwatch stopping before hitting the three second mark. In other words, in the twos!
So what cars are in the exclusive 0-60 mph two second club? Of note is the fact that these cars are real production models that real (but lucky) people drive on the street legally.
Yes, a car's top speed indeed says something, however, how usable is top speed for day-in and day-out use? On the other hand, the sprint to 60 mph can is useful on the Interstate ramp and when passing other vehicles. And let's not forget the flat out exhilaration that rapid speed brings the driver.
Some characteristics of these three fast cars included forced induction in the form of single or dual turbochargers and dual-clutch 6 or 7-speed transmissions that lay down the power to all four wheels. The engine output of the three ranges from 530 to 1183 horsepower. As would be expected, these three cars are expensive ranging from $89,950 to an estimated $2,708,440. Two of the cars are actually quite versital for day-in and day-out use.
The brakes on all three involve mammoth discs combined with multi-piston calipers at all four corners. The wheels are either 19 or 20 inch units.
Ok, now for the cars! The first supercar is a Japanese model priced at $89,950 that hits 60 mph in 2.94 seconds. Next up is a German sports car priced at $160,700 that hits 60 mph in 2.84 seconds. And the fastest sprinter to 60 mph of the three? It has an Italian name and bolts to 60 mph in a lightning quick 2.52 seconds. Of note is that the car costs and estimated $2,708,440! You might be thinking - it is a Corvette Z06 or Lexus LFA. No and no!
For my money, I would take the car that has that all so important day-in and day-out versatility!
Why have I not mentioned the names of these quick cars? I wanted you to keep reading further and visit the slideshow of course!
To make it even more interesting, I have added a guest appearance to this fast sprint group.
Visit the slideshow to see these three two second 0-60 mph sports cars. They are worth your wait!
These three cars are part of the 'two second' automotive in crowd. And even if we might not be able to actually get our hands on one, they make the automotive world much better indeed!
