Kyle's Corner (FYI) Ferdinand Anton Ernst Porsche: Heavy Metal Indeed

Kyle Busch
Ferdinand Porsche designed one of the greatest sports cars ever - the Porsche 911!
To accomplish such, he must have had some real metal in his shoes.

A few of the racing Porsches were even painted in a light pink color. Was something
weird going on? No, just likely it was a statement that the car could have been painted
any color and there was the confidence that it simply was what it was!

In Ferdinand Porsche - Genesis of Genius (Bentley Publishers), Karl Ludvigsen
provides the phenomenon that is Porsche. Regarding Ludvigen's book Classic Cars
states, "This time it's on the grand master himself, covering his development as an
engineer and innovator during the early decades of the 20th century. As expected, it
is authoritative and meticulous, its near-500 pages carrying 570 photos and illustrations,
including colour fold-outs of the most important cars."

The book is expensive at over $120. However, because of Ferdinand Porsche and his son
Ferry, Porsches have always had some heavy metal in their engines. Thus, the book is
likely worth the price.
