Kyle's Corner (FYI) Volvo's Advanced Research

If you are familiar with Volvo's past, you can not be faulted for thinking 'Advanced Research' refers to Volvo safety. Like in the past, Volvos remain some of the safest vehicles on the road. However, today, Advanced Research has to do with Volvo being on the leading edge concerning electric vehicles, fuel cells, and innovations for energy storage.

Dennis Simanaitis of Road & Track drove a Volvo C30 Electric in downtown Los Angles and found the car to be "city-zippy, silent, and fun." To read more about the editor's experience with the Volvo C30 Electric visit: Roadandtrack. Of note is that Volvo's electric cars have been tested in the homeland's (Sweden) winter - down to minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

In 2012, a C30 Electric fleet will be going to Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United States including California, New York and Indiana, as Volvo has a battery supplier with a major facility in the Hoosier state.

The Volvo C30 Electric - retaining the old but embracing the future!
