Kyle's Corner (FYI) VW and Porsche: I'm Not the Father, I was Working on My Car that Night

It's Not My Baby!

When it comes to things
being completed or finish-
ed, there is an old saying -
It isn't over until the fat
lady sings!

Well, in the case of
the Porsche takes over
Volkswagen. No, make
that, Volkswagen takes
over Porsche saga, it
might be said - It's not
over until the car en-
thusiast has had a good
night of driving!

Volkswagen reportedly will 'gain control' of Porsche (both auto companies
have more or less been working together in some manner for the past 60
years!) in 2011. The owners of both companies are blood related for
heaven's sakes!

Now the latest 'story' is that Volkswagen might not be so eager to fully
embrace Porsche and this begs the question. Why would Volkswagen
be starting to think twice about Porsche (or saying that is not my baby)?
Well, for one reason. Volkswagen would incur Porsche's debt that the
sportscar maker piled up trying to take over Volkswagen. Additionally,
there seems to be some lawsuits brewing against Porsche for stock
manipulation. And thus Volkswagen would potentially need to settle
and pay for the legal issues (could such go on for 18 years? Anything
is possible!).

It's like the classic 'hot potato.' It's better in the other guy's hands! With
Volkswagen and Porsche, it is a long standing family affair. When things
are going good it's all love. But, when things ... Well, let's just say that
it is not over until it is over or until the car enthusiast has had a good drive!
Stay tuned to see what happens between Volkswagen and Porsche and who
the real father might be!
