I also prefer makeup products that go on with ease. I stay away from the ones that tug and pull at the delicate skin on my face; particularly that around the eyes.
One of my favorite new finds is L.A. Colors Dual Liner and Shadow Pencils. These creamy pencils glide over the skin with ease, leaving just the right amount of color behind.
Each L.A. Colors Dual Liner and Shadow Pencil comes with two colors. One is meant to provide shadow for the lids. The other lines the eyes with exact precision. Best of all, these pencils come with a sharpener so that you never have to worry about having the perfect point.
I chose BPN921 - Coffee. It came with a stunning mocha colored eye shadow and a black eye liner. Both products are easy to apply and blend into the skin easily. You can't mess them up.
Ingredients in L.A. Colors Dual Liner and Shadow Pencils include beeswax, candelilla wax, carnuba wax, castor oil, hydrogenated coconut oil, microcrystalline wax and lanolin. They also include BHT, ceresin, ethylhexyl palmitate, iron oxides, petrolatium, peu contenir, propylparaben, squaline and ultramarines.
The product should only be used on the eyes and should be discarded if it becomes contaminated in any way. Eyeliners and eye shadows should be replaced regularly to prevent the spread of bacteria. They should never be shared with other people.
L.A. Colors Dual Liner and Shadow Pencils are a product of China. Beauty Cosmetics, Inc. of Rancho Cucamonga, California Cucamonga distribute them.
Here is my summary review:
Consistency: 5 stars. L.A. Colors Dual Liner and Shadow Pencils go on silky soft and smooth.
Effectiveness: 5 stars. Both the shadow and the liner last a long time once applied. My lasted about 8 hours.
Color options: 3 stars. Colors combinations for L.A. Colors Dual Liner and Shadow Pencils are somewhat limited. Besides the coffee color I purchased, I found a charcoal, green and blue. Most came with black or brown black liners. I found none with a brown liner.
Packaging: 3 stars. The packaging is simple and inexpensive. The pencils are color coded with the color of the liner and shadow. They are placed into plastic and sealed onto a peg card. The card itself is white and blue with navy and deep ink print. It is a bit busy. The L.A. Colors logo is on the front but isn't prominent.
Storage capability: 5 stars. The pencil is dual ended with the shadow on one end and the liner on the other. It measures 4.75" in length and is almost .5" in diameter. It will easily store in a cosmetic bag or tote, a vanity or even a train case or handbag.
Green value: 3 stars. The cardboard and plastic can be recycled. The pencils can be used until finished or they must be thrown away if contaminated.
Availability: 4 stars. L.A. Colors products are available in many discount department stars and drug stores.
Price: 5 stars. Most L.A. products sell for between $1 and $2. L.A. Colors Dual Liner and Shadow Pencil sell at Dollar Tree for $1.
Overall Rating: 33 points, which averages out to 4.1 stars or good.
RATING SCALE:
5 stars = outstanding
4 stars = good
3 stars = average
2 stars = below average
1 star = poor
