If I had to choose a cosmetic that hate the most, it would definitely be foundation. It can be difficult to find the right color, type and texture of foundation for your skin. That is particularly true for my overly sensitive skin. It won't handle the products that many others can wear, yet it will take some you wouldn't expect.
Because I never know what will or won't work for me, I'm constantly trying something new when it comes time to refill my cosmetic case. Recently I decided to try L.A. Colors Expressions Liquid Makeup. Why? It is because I found at the Dollar Tree for just $1.
There is nothing I hate more than paying $20 for foundation that my skin won't handle. I'd much rather blow a hundred pennies. As it turns; however, I didn't do that. I can actually wear this brand.
L.A. Colors claims their makeup is good for all types of skin and that it delivers a smooth, even coverage. It also promises an even skin tone and a flawless complexion. It claims to cover and conceal imperfections while remaining lightweight and longwearing. But does it live up to all of those claims. Let's take a look and see.
As I've noted, I have very sensitive skin. There are even some hypoallergenic cosmetics that I can wear. I can; however, wear L.A. Colors Expressions Liquid Makeup. That leads me to believe that is just might work with all different types of skins. I give in 4 out of 5 stars on that claim.
L.A. Colors Expressions Liquid Makeup doesn't even out all skin tones. While it worked from my daughter, who has a near flawless complexion anyway, it didn't work as well for me. Skin texture may have a lot to do with the makeup's capability in this area. I can't say it always leaves behind a perfect complexion. Therefore, it gets only 3 out of 5 stars.
I also didn't find that the foundation conceals flaws very well. With aging skin, I have a few brown spots on my face. Unfortunately, they were still visible even after my makeup application. They were; however, diminished somewhat and that's a step in the right direction. I give L.A. Colors Expressions Liquid Makeup 3 out of 5 stars on this claim.
I agree that this makeup is remarkably lightweight. It feels like air going on, but perhaps that is why the coverage isn't as good as it could be. I also give L.A. Colors Expressions Liquid Makeup 3 out of 5 stars here.
L.A. Colors Expressions Liquid Makeup wears well, although I'm not sure I'd call it longwearing. It holds for about four hours. Most longwearing foundations hold between 6 and 12 hours. It gets just 2 out of 5 stars for this claim.
Unfortunately, this foundation comes in a limited amount of colors and there isn't a good transition from light to medium or medium to dark. There is just a big leap. Therefore I give it only 1 star here.
I personally like the smell of this foundation. However, women who don't like a floral scent may find it bothersome. It gets 4 out of 5 stars for scent.
The pump bottle in which this foundation comes doesn't work very well. I ended up having to remove the top to get the foundation the old-fashioned way. That's not good. If you are going to provide a pump, then it should work. The makeup gets 0 stars here.
That is 20 out of a possible 32 stars, which averages out to 2.4. While not great, it isn't horrible either.
L.A. Colors Expressions Liquid Makeup is made in China. Beauty 21 Cosmetics, Inc. out of Rancho Cucmonga, California distributes it. For more information about the makeup, visit their website at LAColors (.com).
