The first impression many people get from a restaurant is the first thing they see in the restaurant rather than the first thing they taste. All the furniture at La Fuente is imported directly from Mexico, to give customers the most authentic experience possible. Each table and booth has the La Fuente design carved into it just to add an even more authentic feel. More important than a restaurant's décor is the restaurant's food. The food served at La Fuente is prepared by chefs using traditional Mexican recipes as well as fresh local ingredients. The menu at La Fuente is more diverse than most Mexican restaurants, offering anything from Tacos and Nachos to Steak and Eggs. There is also a special kids section of the menu for kids 12 and under. Along with a wide array of foods available there is also an extensive margarita and beer selection.
Perhaps the best thing about La Fuente is the service. There are plenty of booths and tables, so the restaurant rarely fills to capacity. As a result the wait time to be seated is usually minimal and there is no wait time at all on occasion. After being seated chips and salsa are promptly placed on the table, as well as bowls for everyone to use for their salsa. The waiters always give plenty of time to review the menu, and usually it only takes 5-10 minutes after placing your order to receive your food. La Fuente is like most other Mexican restaurants in that it is fairly inexpensive. Most meals come with refried beans, and rice and make a good size meal for anyone. Most meals are also around $7-$7.50 plus a drink.
La Fuente currently has 4 locations in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. There is one in Lees Summit, Independence, Kearney, and the newest addition is in Overland Park. No matter which La Fuente you go to you are sure to get good food and good service every visit. Overall La Fuente is a great local authentic Mexican restaurant with impeccable service as well as food.
