The bottle is a huge 500 ml, 567 g, or 20 ounce. It is a clear plastic bottle with 2 good size hand grips, on each side. It has a clear plastic flip up top. The color of the gel is green.
When I wash my hair, no matter what shampoo, and conditioner I use, it is always baby fine, and soft. For years I would put mousse in my hair, but over the past couple of years, have changed to gel.
So with towel tried hair, I flipped up the lid of the L.A. Looks Styling Gel. I squeezed the bottle, and the gel came to the opening. It was so thick that I had to give it a harder squeeze for it to come through. Although it looks a bright green in the bottle, it is the palest of green color. It is really thick, and doesn't move in the palm of your hand. The fragrance is delicate, and fresh.
Once I rubbed the palms of my hands together, the gel did go into a liquid form. I dabbed it onto my hair, and then ran my fingers through it. I got a little more of the gel, and then went up through the back of my hair.
I blow dried my hair, using a round hairbrush. My hair lifted really well, and had a slight crunch to it. Once I had finished it, I had a full head of hair that stood out. This is exactly what I was asking of my styling gel.
I went on to use the curling iron, and backcomb it, before putting it into my French pleat. My hair was easy to manage, and went in the direction that I wanted. I had no gaps in my hair, just perfectly styled hair.
When I checked my hands after using the L.A. Looks Radical Control Styling Gel, they weren't sticky, like many other gels I have used.
I would compare L.A. Looks with the Walgreens own brand of Sport Extreme Hold Styling Gel No.10. I use this one when I am traveling as it is a small enough tube, only 3 ounces, to be able to go in my hand luggage. I pay 99 cents for it.
L.A. Looks state that this is a "mega hold with Tri-Active Hold for absolute fixation, absolute resistance, and absolute durability, that will last all day long. It will not flake out and it is alcohol free, lightweight, and non-sticky for a smooth finish".
Value wise I have to give L.A. Looks 5 stars, and even if I had paid the going rate for it, it would have still worked out a great purchase.
