La Luna Plane

Ode to the Luna Moth

Mr. Chip's
Small ethereal being

God's miniature jet

I found you one morning

After the day before the rain

you'd landed on the concrete

you almost seemed lifeless

And cold to the world

Your delicate outstretched wings

Shimmering off the street lights

Your delicate antenna so lithe and frail

Your picturesque beauty

Shades of light green and yellow

Like you could have been painted

More like a picture to be framed

Then a moth to go aloft

To Soar above our world

The spots on your lower wings

To reflect a image to ward off harm

Distinctly I knew it was you La Luna

How long had you been outside

On that cold lonely concrete

Would you rise again

And be heavenly bound

Quickly with gloves on

As not to tinge your wings with oil

I placed you near the warmth of the house

To allow your life being

So marvelous you are La Luna

So mysterious as you fly the earth

Almost to the clouds

For in mere moments

As I watched you regain your warmth

Your wings beat again

Your body vibrating

And shaking to stir

As you set on my flower pot

Then into the dark sky

Like a jet roaring

For a take-off

Towards the moon

And the sea to more

Adventures ...you were gone

With a blur.

(Dedicated to the Luna Moth the night I witnessed it take off at 4:30 AM on a cool April morning)

Happy Memorial Day friends and contributors!!! Of course you know Mr. Chip's loves all creatures Great & small so today on this beautiful Memorial Day I found a wood colored giant silkworm moth in our driveway it just looked like a motionless brownish leaf. I am glad our car did not send it to heaven (lol) it is now in our moth & butterfly mesh, collapsible terrarium. Where we will release it tonight according to how the weather holds.

Look around if you have not seen a LUNA moth and so on they are here or are on their way. Give them a hand if you can, put them in a safe area to rest not too hot or cold let them rest and let them fly on their way.

On a side-bar for those who like to stay in physical shape or are fans of bodybuilding another story about my good friend former Ms. Olympia contestant & twice British BB champ, Mrs. Della Wagnon. I submitted it to YV last night just look for a title in ref. bodybuilder & businesswoman and Life on the otherside of thee Rainbow.
