Labor Day Barbeque Recipes

Looking for something to throw on the barbecue this Labor Day? Then buy a few pounds of chicken wings and have your first annual Wingfest. All you need is a grill, Chivetta's sauce, Barbecue sauce, Lemon Pepper seasoning and your favorite hot sauce. That gives your party an assortment of marinated and grilled chicken wings for everyone to share and enjoy.

First, invite your family and friends over for your Wingfest Labor Day party. Get a head count so you can have enough for everyone. Figure about five of those thick, juicy chicken wings with the wing and the leg still together for each person at least. After you know how many, then pick up your Chivetta's, Lemon Pepper seasoning, Barbecue sauce and your favorite hot sauce. Don't forget the chicken wings.

You'll need some plastic containers with lids to let the different varieties sit and marinate in the fridge for at least two or three hours. The longer you marinate your wings, the more you'll be able to taste your seasonings. I suggest using plastic bags that zip, this way you wont waste too much of what you are marinating with. The plastic bag will hold some wings and your sauces securely.

When your ready to fire up the grill, place your wings on the top layer and close the lid cooking for around 10-15 minutes each side. All grills cook differently so check one of the wings to make sure they are fully cooked. If you turn the grill too high, then the outside of your wings will get cooked faster than the inside and they will be too crispy and hard to eat.

I recommend cooking them on medium so they turn out soft and juicy with just a little charcoal, dark color is on the skin. Make sure you have enough propane left to cook your food, so you don't have to hop in the car and find the nearest store to get some more propane.

If your party goes well, Then you can have an annual Wingfest. There are so many different kinds of chicken wings to make. Other sides to include with your Labor Day meal are: blue cheese, celery, carrots, chips, potato salad and macaroni salad. Good luck and happy Labor Day!
