Labor Day Fun for the Whole Family

Labor day is the last holiday of the summer and a great time for the whole family to get together for a little fun in the sun. This is one of the summer holidays that I like to get everyone together because, the summer is winding down and it's just about time for the kids to go back to school, not to mention that it will be getting cold soon. Choosing a good location for everyone to meet at is very important, because you want everyone to be able to enjoy themselves.

Instead of having something at home, you may want to have everyone meet up at the lake or the beach or maybe one of your favorite parks. This will make clean up easy, plus everyone will be able to stretch out and do their own thing.You can bring some cards or a couple of board games for everyone to play, plus the kids will be able to swim and play volley ball and other fun games.

When the whole family gets together it's always fun and much easier to do a simple pot luck. If you're the person in charge of getting everything together, be sure to keep track of what everybody is bringing, to ensure that you all will have everything that you need.

Keep the menu simple, because what's important is that everyone is going to be spending the day together as a family. Of course you will want to grill hamburgers and hot dogs and maybe some ribs and or chicken breasts and maybe have some pasta salad and some chips and salsa. For dessert you can purchase some patriotic cup cakes from Kroger or Walmart from the bakery or serve a refreshing fruit salad.

Make this holiday an annual event that the family can spend together, It doesn't matter if it's two of you or a hundred of you pick a spot, plan a menu, and let's have some old fashioned family fun, like we used to in the good old days. Enjoy your Labor day with your family and friends!
