Labor Day Party Ideas

It's hard to believe that the dog days of summer are almost coming to a close. Labor Day will be here before we know it. Labor Day is the last holiday of the summer, so what better way to celebrate the summer than to have a goodbye summer party on Labor Day?

Usually the weather is still warm enough to enjoy the water on Labor Day. A fun party on the lake would be great. You could have a cookout and go swimming, boating and skiing. Not near a lake? Have your guest over for a pool party. Anytime water is involved makes for a great party.

You might even consider putting together a summer concert over the Labor Day weekend. That is exactly what my husband and I are in charge of this Labor Day. Where I am from we have a huge festival and we are putting on a summer concert which will be a fundraiser. This idea could work in many ways, and a fundraiser is just one of those ways. You could put on a concert just for fun for your family and friends to enjoy. You might even want it to be karaoke or a talent show.

If you want to have a get together for Labor Day but don't want to make a big fuss, then having a simple cookout could be the plan for you.Invite your closest friends and family over and have each guest bring a dish. This takes a lot of the pressure off of you. One thing about having a get together or party you want to be able to enjoy it and not have to stay busy the whole time. A no fuss get together is the way to go!

Another good idea for Labor Day is to take a mini vacation or plan a getaway. Have one last time away before the kids start back to school. You can plan it according to what your budget allows. You can even just plan a day trip if that is all you can afford. A trip to an amusement park, a zoo or even a museum. Check online to find coupons and deals for some great getaways. Usually you can find some fun things to do not too far from your own house. Even 2 hours away can hold many possibilities. Having fun and celebrating Labor Day doesn't have to be a budget breaker.
