Think your Labor Day party will cost a bundle? Think again! You can kick off a great Labor Day party at an affordable price by using the tips listed here.

Labor Day party planning on a budget is very popular. That's because everyone is looking for new ways to save money, and while throwing a Labor Day party can be expensive.....it doesn't have to be.

Use these tips for throwing a Labor Day party on a budget:

Food - The best way of saving money for your Labor Day party is with the food you serve. Instead of going all out and buying steaks, or other expensive meat, serve hot dogs instead. Beef hot dogs are inexpensive alternative, and they taste great. Ask each guest to bring a covered dish, as this is not only a big money saver, but it's also a fun way to have a diverse menu. If a guest says they can't cook, ask them to bring a bag of chips or a six-pack of soda instead.

Decorations - Another way of saving money for your Labor Day party is by making your own Labor Day party decorations. There's really not much to it, and this is something the kids can help you with. Print off some Labor Day coloring pages online, and let the kids color and decorate them. You can laminate the Labor Day coloring pages and use glue dots to adhere them to walls, the sides of tables, or hang them overhead by a string. In addition to using the Labor Day coloring pages, you can also cut out and create beautiful metallic stars using heavy-duty craft paper in metallic prints, and hang them in the air.

NOTE - Another great idea for Labor Day party planning on a budget, is to use the food you serve as part of your Labor Day party decorations. Use food that is themed in red, white and blue colors. This is a great way to dress up a table, and is a helpful way to reduce the money you spend on Labor Day party decorations.

Entertainment - Instead of hiring a DJ, or other form of live entertainment for your Labor Day party, play the radio instead. Another idea is to buy an inexpensive party CD. Since Labor Day is the official end of summer, play beach and summer themed music for one last time before summer is gone.

Don't waste your money! - Why spend a lot of money on things you're just going to throw away? When it comes to buying paper plates, napkins, and so on, visit your local Dollar Store. During the Labor Day holiday, you'll find everything you could possibly need for your Labor Day party. Decorations, tablecloths, utensils, and paper products can all be purchased for just one dollar!

My life partner's kids found the best way to save on meat. They're vegetarians, so when they plan a cookout, if you want meat you bring your own!
