Holiday Fun for the Whole Family to Enjoy

Labor Day is the last holiday of the summer before the kids have to go back to school and during this time most people are usually enjoying a three day weekend. Every year in the Metro Detroit area there are several events that take place and run from Friday through Labor Day. Listed below are a few places that the whole family can enjoy over the Labor Day weekend.

The International Jazz Festival

The International Jazz Festival has been going strong for over 30 years and this festival always take place over the Labor Day weekend. The Jazz Festival features artist from all over the country and they perform on several stages. The International Jazz Festival is a free event for all ages to enjoy.

Hamtramck Labor Day Festival

Hamtramck is a Polish community located about five minutes away from Detroit. The Hamtramck Labor Day Festival will consist of everything Polish along with a Polish Day parade, polish dancers and the polka. There will be carnival rides and live entertainment.

Arts, Beats & Eats Festival of Hope

This festival is sponsored annually by the Chrysler Automotive Company. There will be continuous live entertainment with musicians performing on six different stages. For the kids to enjoy, there will be carnival rides and a petting zoo. Other attractions include environmental displays as well as some amazing art by local artist. Admission for this event is $2 and the proceeds will be donated to several metro Detroit charities.

The Michigan State Fair

The Michigan State Fair is always fun for the whole family because there's great food, carnival rides, livestock, horse shows and so much more. There will also be live entertainment to enjoy with various artists performing every night.

The Michigan Renaissance Festival

This festival has so many great things to see and do, there will be jugglers, comedians, sword swallower's and live entertainment from various artists. The Renaissance Festival gives the illusion of England in the 16th century so, you can expect to see things like knights on Bikes and Middle Eastern dance competitions. This festival takes place in Holy, Michigan during Labor Day weekend. Holy is about thirty-five minutes away from Detroit.
