Unions provide Democrats with two things Democrats need - money and bodies in the streets. Recall that last year a poll as conducted by Rasmussen that found "19%" of people self-identified as liberal, whereas "41%" identified themselves as conservative. That's more than two to one for the mathematically challenged. Add in independents and clearly liberals are the tiny minority. Yet who is the loudest...at least before Tea Party Americans? Yep...lefties!
Despite their relatively small numbers they could make a racket that would imply they were the majority or at least half of all Americans...they were not then and are not now. As I wrote yesterday citing US labor statistics, only "14.7 million" Americans are in labor unions, yet listening to the news of the last week one would think unions were these huge entities of poor, trodden upon workers. Unions only make up about 11% of the workforce. Could the other 89% of workers actually be being abused 40 hours per week? BS.
Unions have become tools of leftism. They provide bodies and money to Democrats and Democrats protect them as if they were their young. It's truly a symbiotic relationship. Whenever we hear chatter of union this and that it is always falling from the lips of a leftist. That clearly proves it's political. Whenever any one ideology embraces and the other rejects, it's all politics.
What of the news that rallies are popping up all over the nation today? It's that "solidarity" stuff. Who is it who are experts, having decades of experience in organizing rallies in the streets? Leftists! Who's protesters are the uncivil ones? Leftists! See how unions so well serve Democrat and leftist political wishes? And for this unfailing support Democrats go to the wall for unions.
For example, according to the Communist Goals for the US in 1963 we find the following: "Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks." (my emphasis) Can you say Wisconsin?
And here's another gem: "Infiltrate and gain control of more unions." (my emphasis) Of another: "Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems."(my emphasis)
Or my favorite, "Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States." Looks like the lefties have succeeded in this one, right DEMOCRATS!
Good stuff, huh? Communists admit unions and student protests are useful tools for them meeting their goals. Of course the lame brains argue "That was 1963! It has nothing to do with 2011!" That is pure stupidity but then again Communism and its ideological inspiration, Marxism, are human stupidity and naivete in action.
Unions time has come and gone. Union membership is shrinking according to US labor statistics, having shrunk in the last year alone 4/10th's of one percent, from "12.3%" of the workforce in 2009 down to "11.9%" in 2010. Unions now serve one purpose alone...the furthering of their own existence and for that they need the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party is shrinking too. Clearly people are waking up and realizing that leftist politics are little concerned with the overall well being of a nation and far more concerned with furthering and entrenching their own power.
Add in the 1963 Communist Goals and their clear dovetailing with what the unions are engaged in and it's pretty obvious to anyone with a brain...Democrats and unions are thick as thieves and seemingly exist only to empower and enrich each other. Considering the small numbers of liberals and the even smaller and still declining number of union workers, when their wants and desires are put up against the whole of a nation and the needs, especially fiscal and social of the nation, well, unions and their ideological impetus are long past their "sell by date." And NOT to say our nation is headed there, but labor unions are a tool of Marxists to gain power, but once Marxists are entrenched the first things to go are unions. Look it up!

Post a CommentI was thinking the same as Nancy. How can they be duped? But, then again, it all boils down to greed.
very true good article
I believe the time for unions has past. Good article, Jimbo. cheers :)
Don't try confusing them with facts, Jim. Their minds are already made up. LOL!
What I find striking is that teacher union members don't seem to see the manipulation. These are supposedly educated people, and they can't see this?
