Lack of Depth

(a Rant )

Whyte Panther
by Whyte Panther (Luigi Fiorino)

How infuriating it can be
When those you thought
Were above the petty
Turn out not to be so

The simple expectations
Once thought reasonable
Turn on their heads
And shake my faith

Do I really expect too much
Is it just perhaps only me
That tries to see the best
And not the the worst in all

With tomorrow's rising sun
Will I take hold of this mess
And set back straight the lost
To the path of truth and light

Anger, hurt, mistrust, and betrayal
Only the slightest of exaggerations
For the degree of hurt I feel inside
From being caught so completely off guard

I will not change the who that I am
For groundless fear of perceived wrongs
I will not lose my faith or trust
When such innocent actions lie misconstrued

You don't need to live your life for anyone else, just be true to yourself.

Some snakes seem to have an extra wiggle, Whyte Panther, as you express in your marvelous poem. To know it is grist for an artist such as yourself.
