Lack of Leadership Ability by Obama Guiding U.S. to Nowhere, Fast

COMMENTARY | First, we saw the beginning of the great health care debacle that President Barack Obama still incredulously touts as the pinnacle of his success as the leader of the United States, regardless of the fact that many states are now undergoing efforts to repeal Obamacare.

Then we watched as there was no budget offered to effectively address the deficit, even as time keeps ticking, the debt ever-increasing with no definitive direction from our Commander-in-Chief. And finally we saw our president's most glaring example of his inability to lead our country to any place of greatness with a defined purpose or sense of direction when he decided to involve the United States military in a "kinetic military action" in Libya.

The ironies regarding this latest decision by President Obama to directly involve the United States in this operation are numerous. Here are the top four:

* This is not an act of war according to the Obama administration.

* President Obama previously denounced acts of war by other presidents even though they first sought permission (per the United States' Constitution) from Congress while he, personally did not.

* President Obama was off to Brazil shortly after he made the decision to involve U.S. military in Libya. He was helping the Brazilian government to explore off-shore drilling ventures in United States' waters in the Gulf of Mexico.

* The latest outcome of this "kinetic military action" that was described as a humanitarian effort on the part of the United States to protect the Libyan people from slaughter by their dictator Moammar Gadhafi? On Tuesday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that if Gadhafi would agree to it, he would be allowed safe escape from Libya to gain exile in another country. This would circumvent Gadhafi's prosecution for the war crimes against his people which is the whole reason that Obama first spoke the words, "Gadhafi must go." This directly inserted the United States in Libya in the first place.

So let me get this straight, President Obama involved the U.S. military in this costly "humanitarian effort" during a time when the U.S. is experiencing the greatest economic slump since the Great Depression so Gadhafi would not be held responsible for the slaughter of his own people and gain safe passage to Club Med?
